Bank of Mom & Dad

SOAPnet is adding more original series to its slate and will premiere "Bank of Mom & Dad" on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. A total of ten one-hour episodes will air on Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The original reality series, produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, follows the lives of women in their 20s and 30s who have to face their Mom and Dad moving in with them to control their overspending and mounting debt.  For one week, mom and dad police their finances and take over their lives with the help of money coach Farnoosh Torabi. 

 Adapted from a BBC format,  ”Bank of Mom & Dad” each week will visit a young adult woman with a wayward lifestyle and spending spriraling out of control go through a major reality check as she faces up to her debt.  With the help of Farnoosh, Mom and Dad take total control in an emotionally charged intervention where the parents have to approve every dollar spent. Known for her work in Seventeen magazine and on Quicken Online, AOL, MSNBC and CNN, Farnoosh Torabi, author of the book “You’re So Money,” will help plan a road map for change and the tools to make it happen. 

“Bank of Mom & Dad” is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Allison Wallach and Bob Kirsh serve as executive producers.
