JASON COOK
Dr. Matt Hunter on the ABC Television Network's "General Hospital"

Jason Cook joined the cast of "General Hospital" in June 2008, playing the role of the rebellious Dr. Matt Hunter.

Cook was born in Somerdale, New Jersey, but moved to California with his family at a young age. Early in his childhood he played piano, a hobby he continued for many years. His acting career began in high school when he was asked to replace the original lead in the drama club's play, "Whodunnit."

Later Cook appeared on shows like the Disney Channel's "Project Time" and Nickelodeon's "The Amanda Show," until he was offered the role of Shawn-Douglas Brady on "Days of our Lives" in 1999. He won a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actor in 2001 and was nominated for both a Soap Opera Digest Award and a Special Fan Award in 2005.

Cook was also seen in feature films "Numb to Life" and "Social Security Guard," with fellow "General Hospital" actor John Ingle.

In his free time, he enjoys reading and playing basketball at charity events. He currently lives in the Los Angeles area.
