NATHIN BUTLER
Dr. Ewen Keenan on the ABC Television Network’s "General Hospital"
A cast member of the award-winning daytime drama "General Hospital" since October 2011, Nathin Butler portrays newly arrived doctor and "kid at heart" Ewen Keenan.
Born and raised in Australia, Butler grew up on a cattle property in outback Queensland. In his younger days he divided his time between being outdoors on horseback, working in the cattle yards and driving cars and riding motorcycles. He also had a keen interest in playing guitar and singing, and by high school had participated in numerous theatrical productions. At the age of 17, he was accepted into the prestigious Sydney-based National Institute of Dramatic Art.
At age 23, Butler moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional career in acting, where he landed roles in "X-Men: Origins," "Australia" and HBO’s "The Pacific," among other film, television and theatrical projects. He is also a songwriter and lead singer of two bands, The Sugar and Billy Justice.
In his spare time, Butler enjoys cinematography, writing screenplays and songs, listening to live music, and playing guitar and singing in the recording studio. Always up for a game of backyard cricket, basketball, beach volleyball and a surf with his mates, he lives in the Los Angeles area.
